Offered is a hand carved biomorphic shaped wood bowl made by David Auld in the 1960’s carved from a Haitian candle tree. It retains its original gold foil label on the bottom.
This large bowl has superb form and gorgeous wood graining with a like-new shiny patina. It makes a wonderful display piece for a Mid Century Modern design home, yet can also be used as a salad server, a fruit bowl, or a catch-all.
David Auld, an American artist, settled in Haiti in the 1960’s where he began his woodcarving business with unique designs and high-quality craftsmanship.
