Vintage Design
A charming late 18th-century to early 19th-century painted Georgian country house bookcase. It features a moulded cornice above a pair of four-bar glazed doors, enclosing a central division with three solid oak adjustable shelves on each side. The lower section comprises two fielded panel doors, which open to reveal capacious storage on two fixed shelves. The bookcase stands on shaped bracket feet and is divided into two sections for ease of movement and transportation. Each section retains the original lock, and a single key operates both locks. The original brass escutcheons are still in place, along with the original glazing and panelled back. The piece boasts a wonderful patina and colour.
